The Cactus and Succulent Society of America Publishes the bi-monthly Journal and the annual Bradleya, sponsors original research, and has affiliates throughout the U.S. and around the world. The biannual conference - held in odd-numbered years - draws an international audience and leading authorities to its podium. The members-only Seed Depot is an affordable resource for seeds of cacti and succulents, many rarities available only here. A great starting place for finding a book, a plant, some seed, a local society --- even the kitchen sink, if somebody is using one as a cactus planter. The Amateur's Digest This reader-friendly Canadian magazine is mirrored here on the Internet. Editor Marina Welham has created a great publication (and web site) that is particularly helpful to the beginning C&S enthusiast, while at the same time having articles and information useful to the most experienced grower. A more academically-oriented site, this is an exhaustive compilation of links to sites worldwide having to do with anything and everything botanical. The site's authors have done a brilliant job of making the site easily navigated and a huge amount of information easily accessed. Many bromeliad genera are succulent or include succulent species. The Bromeliad Society International is the site to visit to learn more about this fascinating, beautiful, and widely-adapted family. This is a newly formed society that is full of enthusiastic growers and hobbyists that produce a quarterly journal. This journal is aimed at informing and helping hobbyists grow Cold Tolerant cacti and succulents outdoors in zones 3-6. Every issue is packed with experiences, growing tips, retail sources, and even a trading column. Well worth the modest subscription price! The International Bulb Society Many bulbous plants are grown in C&S collections, and particularly in southern Africa, bulbs are often common companion plants with succulents in the wild. Visit this site to learn more about the incredible diversity of bulbs and their cultivation. Reference resource for help on plant care, pest control and other cultivation topics.
